Books...*sigh *

I collect pretty books.

This was the thought that came to me this afternoon at about 3:17pm. I was re-reading some favorite moments of Jane Eyre, when I abruptly came to this conclusion and decided to do something about it.

What do I mean by 'do something about it', you may ask? Why, run-all-over-the-house-collecting-all-of-my-favorite-books-into-categorized-groups-and-take-pictures-for-the-next-half-hour-so-I-could-blog-about-it, of course!!!

Naturally.

So that's what I did, and now you get to see the fruits of my labor - I had so much fun pulling books off the shelves, arranging them and taking pictures - each one of these books has so many memories attached to them, a flood of good times, a moment of bliss suspended forever...you get the idea. This was fun.

Here are my 'pretty books' - random fairy tales with elaborate illustrations and beautiful messages and inspire the mind forever :)

And then there are my juvenile/young adult (to use the proper terminology) pretty books :D Ahh, bliss...

Then there are those old, dear, wonderful books that simply can NOT be replaced... (so sorry this one's crooked..it kept uploading that way and I can't fix it :( )

And then there are those amazing 'Bethlehem Books', as we've always called them. One small little problem - there is one favorite of mine that is scandalously absent from this photo! No, I don't own a copy of 'They Loved To Laugh', the reason for which has oddly escaped me...hmmm...

So there you have my little pretties...now, there are TONS of books missing from this little diary, because I didn't go into my sisters room and ravage her shelves...that would have taken like...3 hours at least, and I would have felt some..less-than-pleasant consequences for such actions, so we'll just have to do without such lovelies as Witch of Blackbird Pond or the entire Betsy-Tacy series. (don't get me started on Jenny B Jones...) now I shall go and continue reading NEW findings...old to the world, new for me...you know how it is. :)

I appreciate the fact that you didn't mess up my highly organized piles of books. :) Though you do know that I own a copy (old hardcover--smells amazing!) of "They Loved To Laugh" right?

I didn't think of it...and anyway, it's not the copy that I read...Heidi has that. And there's something about having the one that you read the first time.....I should still check it out of your library, though ;)

You are welcome to borrow it any time you'd like!
